OK, I realize I really dropped the ball on this one, it should have been reported about 2 months ago.  Parallax Games is now offering it's players one of the most interesting World War II games there is, Flames of War.  It is a Battalion based game, mean that each side employees half a dozen tanks and several platoons of infantry to recreate great battles from the second world war.

Great generals and national heroes fight alongside their armies, incorporating factual history into the game and making the game that much more interesting.  Special characters such as Russian sniper Vasily Zaitsev dropping German officers left and right, or German General Field Marshall Rommel commanding his tank companies into the heart of the Africa Campaign bring rich flavor to the rules.

Special scenario books, several focusing on the week surrounding D-Day, allow players to test their leadership skills against History's greats.

Personally, I am looking forward to cleansing the Germans from Stalingrad, and proving that I could have lead the Russian RKKA better than Stalin ever dreamed of waging war.
